1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Awaking The Crowd” and is there any meaning behind it?

Everybody has their own history and by happy coincidence it put us together. The founder Kreyner La Scala was interested in music since he was a kid but he didn't have his parents incentive. He started a band at 13 years old and met some guys that already played. He never stopped and was a serious learner of different techniques to keep their voice as keen as possible. Karen Dió started also at age 13 playing the guitar but her family encouraged her to pursue music. During her career, she continued to faithfully dedicating to the music. Also participated in several bands, and each passage was more matured his musical concept and grew increasingly having more visibility. Was praised in sites known in the underground scene, had story about music in magazines, appeared on a reality show, TV show and even did a commercial for the most famous bank in the country. Leornado Ferreira started with a teenage band playing bass and guitar doing Paramore covers. He wanted to play drums but his father decided to buy a guitar due the noise, as always. Well happy coincidence, he can barely hold the sticks. Caio Miranda started also as teenager in local bands with a strong influence of Motorhead and Iron Maiden. He recorded and toured with cover and local bands and is well known for his work with the band Ultimate Freedom traditional Heavy Metal. Ulisses Batista started to play drums at age 15 and just with 8 years doing classes he was invited to be a teacher. He didn't feel prepared at the time but worked hard to raise his level in a short period having contact with so different music styles and definitely paid off by building a strong sense for playing any style. The name of the band was Kreyner's thought and the intention is that it really wakes up everybody and get everyons attention to the reality that we live in. Sometimes it's easier to live in a shell but we want to reach not only one person but really the entire crowd, the entire world.

2. What do you want listeners to take away from your music? How has the response been to the "Make It Real" EP thus far?

We want to share a positive message to each listener. We seek their recognition that our music is really unique. We want to truly show that we can combine Metalcore with Hardcore, New Metal, Pop or whatever comes from our mind and it sounds fresh and renewed. We've been honored with SO much positive feedback about this EP in Brazil and each day people from around the world that it's also recognizing our work on this EP. That was just a small portion of what is coming in the near future. We are growing as a band each day and we are excited about what is ahead of us.

3. How would you describe your music to the average listener?

We are having problem to label our music, mainly you can see Metalcore as the strongest background, but everyone has different styles and this clash sometimes drives us for different ways that we feel pleasure and are comfortable with. If you like Rock in general you will like something in our music. We really hope you like all of it.

4. What can people expect from your live show?

We want to be sure that we will deliver each and every concert. We live to play live, and each day our fan base grows, we are honored to play in front of them and give them moments of joy that can be in their minds forever. We want to achieve that everyone that sees us live remembers each minute and be anxious for the next one.

5. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Man, there are so many. Memphis May Fire, Killswitch Engage, August Burn Red. Other three would be Trivium, Phineas and of course Slipknot. We love share with those and many more bands. It definitely would be fun.

6. Any crazy show stories?

We don't have any crazy one, but we once had an awkward/weird situation. We met some guys at a concert and they went there only to hear our songs and concert as well and in the end we were talking about and that guys tell us that they traveled to Sao Paulo City (far from our hometown) only to see us and they didn't know that our hometown is the same as theirs. We were like "oh my god, what the fuck?!". I think that's our crazy story at the moment.

7. What’s your take on the current state of metalcore?

From my point of view, Metalcore is getting bigger and bigger, including here in Brazil. Every single day brand new Metalcore bands come out with a lot of qualities, different riffs, different ways to scream and stuff. I might say Metalcore is reaching the goal, meanwhile has some stuff we need work hard on to be accepted for everybody. It's unusual when you meet someone who likes Metalcore, but I trust in Metalcore and believe it can reach the goals.

8. What’s the current music scene like there in the Brazil both locally and country wide?

We are seeing each day all the bands are more connected with each other and with the fans. We still have a gap that makes it feel uncomfortable to live only with music in Brazil. Independent bands still struggle with the underground conditions in Brazil, even well known bands are not safe due to Metalcore here is not very commercial. We wanna break the ice and show that this style has so much to offer and also there are many bands that was and still doing so much for Metalcore and deserve be recognized.

9. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

We live in a different world than the records era and there are positive and negatives facts about it. As a band you need take the positive facts about it and work on it because nothing will be done to change in the near future. The artist should be rewarded for his job.

10. What’s next for Awaking The Crowd?

We are working hard on news songs now. We want close to 20-25 songs to cut to our full length album that will be released in 2015. We are preparing a tiny piece of this work that will be our new Single to be released between November and December. We have already some contacts with labels interested to release this album worldwide. You can see the work being done by checking our Facebook page. We are also adding a new member to our band, Caio Miranda will be our new lead guitar for now on. We are very excited to have him on board. We are sure that his work and influence will have a positive impact in our music due his respect of the band's background and sound.

11. Any shoutouts?
